Raid in France 2016 kicked off at last night under a moonless sky in the small town of Font Romeu in the Pyrenees in Southern France.
The first, nighttime section of the race traversed the highest peaks of the event is is vitually innaccessible to media and support teams. We caught up with the teams later today at CP 6, where a night of toiling up and down the mountainous landscape was clearly starting to take its toll.
At CP6 New Zealand team Seagate were well in the lead, but dropped to second place when defending champions team Naturex took the lead a little before CP7 where there is a forced timeout for all teams until the morning when they begin the raft section at CP8.
